On the occasion of the Spanish presidency of the European Union, two Spanish avant-garde furniture producers, SANCAL and ANDREU WORLD, which are associated to ANIEME (the Spanish Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters), have been charged with the furnishing of the Headquarters of the Council of Europe.
SANCAL’s tables, designed by José Miguel Andrés, and ANDREU WORLD’s armchairs by Liévore Altherr Molina share the same ambience on the 50th floor of Justus Lipsius Building in Brussels, where they will be on display till the end of EU Spanish presidency in June 2010.
Basing its business strategy on internationalization, Yecla-based
SANCAL, manufacturer of avant-garde upholstered and occasional furniture, is making its way in the main international furniture markets. As a result, the company, which
is now exporting 50% of its production to more than 29 countries, has opened its own showrooms in
Belgium, the
Netherlands and
Cyprus.
Fifty-year experienced
ANDREU WORLD is one of the most
renowned brand among design furniture producers and a leading exporter of design chairs and tables in contemporary and avant-garde style.
According to Juan Carlos Muñoz, President of ANIEME, “thanks to their business strategy, based on differentiation through the high component of design, SANCAL and ANDREU WORLD have improved their positioning in international markets. As a result of this, they are taken as a model by other Spanish furniture manufacturers that wish to get a leading position in their own subsectors.
The presence of Spanish furniture companies in the headquarters of the Council of Europe during the 6 months of Spanish presidency is a good opportunity to show the excellence of Spanish furniture.”
